Marquette DDA Tree Lighting- Yule Market- Holiday Parade at the Commons

By todd On December 14th, 2024

December 13, 2024- Marquette, Mi.- 41West prepared 29 Christmas tunes and played them with vigor even though it was a frosty 22, and dropping as the evening went on. Mayor Jessica Hanley joined us on stage and shared a few sentiments as Santa showed up on the scene. DDA event organizer Michael Bradford caught up with Santa and directed him to the giant switch to light the tree.

29 songs went off without a hitch other than it was so cold, “the Teens”, and Todd’s trombone iced shut, Eric’s wah wah pedal would not wah, Glenn’s trumpet kept giving him challenges, but somehow outdoorsman Luke Noordyk was able to jam on the bass and run sound with his roving tablet too!

41West sure enjoyed being with folks downtown Marquette at the Commons. 10year old VanAnder Noordyk sang his debut Christmas Time Is Here. Dan Lindholm played the drums, Eric Heidtman guitar, Glenn Bengry played trumpet, plus Nikki and Naomi sang beautifully. Our 34foot portable stage sure works well for making events be extra special. We would come to your next event. Text or call us at 9063613325. Mark Johnson took some photos and there were lots of smiles had by all.

Veterans Honored at Jacobetti Home For Veterans

By todd On December 14th, 2024

Marquette, MI- 10am 12-13-24 – Silver Creek Church Pastor Kevin Taylor setup a service for veterans on a very chilly Friday morning.  41West lite, the family band version, gathered for 6 songs in the chapel and Kevin shared his thoughts on the Nativity and birth of Jesus 2,000 years ago.

It was good to see and spend some time with our local veterans.  They were smiling some and we saw a few toes tapping too.  God Bless our veterans and thank you for serving.

Naomi Noordyk-Piirala sang,  Tim Noordyk-Piirala was stage crew,  Luke Noordyk played bass,  Rita Noordyk took pictures, Todd Noordyk played piano, and Pastor Kevin Taylor sang harmonies and gave an upbeat message.

We’d be happy to come do a service, or an event for your group activity.  Text or call us at 906-361-3325

41West plays the Gospel Blues for Music On 3rd

By todd On September 20th, 2024

September 19, 2024 – Marquette – 5 members of 41West did a Gospel Blues show for the last Music on 3rd for 2024. Record crowds came to Marquette DDA’s Music On 3rd as there was good weather and 3rd Street was mostly closed for this musical event.  A dozen bands jammed up and down 3rd and 41West held a very large crowd for 90minutes.

We enjoyed hanging out for a few hours with Matthew and Laura Songer at Wintergreen Hill Gallery & Gifts at 803 N. 3rd, Marquette. What a cool store with fresh, unique art & gifts!

41West played an intriguing mix of tunes with Todd Noordyk’s unmistakable Hammond B3 and Leslie,  Yamaha Piano,  Eric Heidman with his edgy guitar soloing & playing the tunes,  and a vintage drum set was tastefully negotiated by Dan Lindbloom.  Naomi Noordyk sang Amazed & People Get Ready beautifully!  Nicki Heidman sang Enemy’s Camp and the Deacons Blues with passion.  We are available to play for you, your class reunion, a retirement party, fill in for a church service or let us play at your festival.  Contact Todd at cell 9063613325 or noordyk@gmail.com

Check Out 2023 Blueberry Festival

By Adam Rifenburgh On September 7th, 2023
July 28, 2023 – Marquette – Marquette’s DDA showcases blueberries, downtown sidewalk sales, and numerous tents of gifts and goodies plus 3 stages of music for the annual BlueBerry Festival.  People from hundreds of miles came and it was literally a wall-to-wall wave of people from 10am to 7pm as they closed off the downtown streets.
2 smaller singer-songwriter stages were on both ends of the downtown L, by the post office and by Getz’s of West Washington and Front.
Right in the middle of downtown was Great Lakes Radio’s portable 14′ by 34′ stage.  41West ended the 4 bands as the Main Stage Entertainment.  Crowds of folks were glued to the band, the New Orleans style music, and making old song news again with a positive message. 41West would love to play your festival next year.  For bookings, please contact Todd at 906-361-3325.

A Look Back at UP CityFest 2023

By Adam Rifenburgh On September 7th, 2023

July 1, 2023 – Marquette, MI – UP CityFest began a major 4-day music festival continuing into International Foodfest this summer.  41West was hired to be a MainStage presenter.  We played 2 shows on Saturday, July 1st in Lower Harbor Park, downtown Marquette.  Thousands of people were in attendance for the weekend which also included the Stunt Dudes and 2 main label recording artists Becca Shay and Cade Thompson on the Main Stage with 41West.  During our 2 sets, people enjoyed the brass on top with the Hammond and the band creating that New Orleans flavor of making old songs new again and they appreciated our originals.
